Neumann TLM 103 Test e confronto con U87Ai

9 maggio 2016

@enricovaioli
@PaoloBalestri Autore
+enrico .vaioli Ciao Enrico! Dopo i logopedisti!!
@enricovaioli
@PaoloBalestri
@PaoloBalestri Autore
mmmh... I will lopen it and check.
@PaoloBalestri Autore
arreglista express Seems a Sovtek 6922.
@federicomanzi

@MrHreNky
@PaoloBalestri Autore
@VittorioPirracchiomusic
@PaoloBalestri Autore
@VittorioPirracchiomusic
grazie mille Paolo :)
@VittorioPirracchiomusic
@PaoloBalestri Autore
Grande! Voglio poi sentirti cantare sull'U87! :)
@VittorioPirracchiomusic
@85Harris
Ma domanda...che pre stai usando?
@PaoloBalestri Autore
Daniele Bambino Se ricordo bene l'ho fatto sulla Focusrite Saffire direttamente.
@85Harris
@PaoloBalestri Autore
@85Harris
@PaoloBalestri Autore
Daniele Bambino L'acustica incide pesantemente sulla resa!
@Captain1Planet
Thanks for the comparison! The fact that I couldn't understand what you were saying allowed me more to focus on the difference. Great quality video.
@PaoloBalestri Autore
Thank you!
@Pitacle2009
And the beauty of your voice and the quality of your recitation is really helping the purpose of your video. Thanks for all!
@kiencaoduc
with me. i love all neumann. They are perfect condenser mics https://musictool.vn/microphone-cat-3970-vn.html
@cubasbeatproducer2374
I have the 103 it's a pain in the ass when it comes to attenuating those really high frequencies too brittle and harsh, the u87 is more natural-sounding you don't have to go crazy trying to find the perfect deesser for the vocals
@DenisUspeshny
Agree
@richieconwaymusic
I was surprised. Although the 87 is fuller, the 103 has more of a finished sound.
@GraDesigns
For voiceovers the TLM103 is way better than U87. The last one is gonna perfectly fit vocals in the final mix
@PaoloBalestri Autore
Thank you!
@jae2548
The tlm 103 is a lil harsh to me. I can't believe the tlm 102 sound so much similar too the U87
@PaoloBalestri Autore
The 102 it is a nice peace of gear!! Use it with a great Pre and the results will be also greatest!
@jae2548
Paolo Balestri thanks man. I appreciate your video a lot. I'm ordering the 102 today
@metaldefender49
Guys it's the exact same capsule/diaphragm. The main difference is the swith patterns. The 103 is a little more direct whether you would be 7 is a little more well-rounded I would say... but for the $2,000 difference in price I'd go with the 103.
@piotrkarpienia4779
no major difference for me listening on DT 990 PRO. so choice is simple
@豪视界
MD441 noise is too high.
@PaoloBalestri Autore
The MD441 yes! It is a great old mic but it is a dynamic one.
@epjrzsound9531
Muy buena aportación Paolo. Muchas gracias por este video! Que pre-amp utilizaste?
@PaoloBalestri Autore
Gracias!
@piero1126
@PaoloBalestri Autore
@piero1126
ahahahah, Grande!!!!!!
@winstonvkoot
tlm 102 and 03 dont sound bad but that u87 has some magic that feels really in your face how clear and smooth it is
@DenisUspeshny
Fuck tlm102
@PaoloBalestri Autore
🤣
@flozzy1988
@alex26dc17
ciao che pre usi per l'u87?
@Nerdyman_on_TT
BRAVISSIMO (if I said that correctly, and I don't really know if you're speaking Italian or Spanish or Portugese).
@PaoloBalestri Autore
Carl Jenkins Made in Italy 🇮🇹
@JoeCreativeOne
what specific preamp are you using? sounds like a tube
@PaoloBalestri Autore
JoeCreativeOne In the Rode there is his own power unit than go in to the same pre used for the U87: focusrite saffire 57 sound card, no tube.
@MazzaKen82
@PaoloBalestri Autore
Mazzatabis Ken 😂🧐🤪
@chriscaro546
Neumann U87AI is definitely better for baritones. :)
@ytb917
great demo. really allows you to hear subtle but important differences.
@lockolocolocke476
Can you say which hardware did you use?! thx!!
@PaoloBalestri Autore
LockoLoco Locke This was a Focusrite Safire 56 channels 7/8. Nothing else
@MilkyWayMishaps
more bass on the U87. 103 sounds pretty good for the money though
@melodychest9020
Thanks for the demo in your lovely voice. U87 - natural and open across the entire frequency range, like there is no mic! TLM103 - you can feel the mic's character especially in the bass. So, the winner is U87 bcos it captures everything more naturally.
@PaoloBalestri Autore
And... used on an Avalon or UAD it became the best one!
@super8film429
The U87 AI wins! The TLM103 sounds a little metallic and harsh. The U87 sounds so smooth, I love it
@adamgiusto7471
Ovviamente vinto U87ai !!! Bellissima voce!
@PistonsPevinPurant
Tlm 103 has good character that is harsh, and not friendly to mix with at times. U87ai is a smooth, refined true sound that would be best in a mix. It handles sibilence well.
@PaoloBalestri Autore
Apollo Thank you 😊
@ytb917
this guy is amazing at pronouncing words! i don't speak italian, but i felt like i could understand it anyway because of how well the words were pronounced.
@BenTyremanGuitar
I used to think the tlm103 sounded good, but when you compare to the 87 it sounds a bit harsh in the high mids and lacks the low end.
@PaoloBalestri Autore
May depend also from pre. Anyway his eq is bit hight against the 87.
@Михаил-ь8р3ж
Did you hear TLM 193? How does it compare to TLM 103? I am now choosing between them, but 193 is not in any of the nearest studios to compare.
@PaoloBalestri Autore
In my humble opinion is a great mic. More flat than 103, more dark but a great studio mic without extra colors. I have not in my studio but should be right one.
@Y444hn
The outer sound on the u87 sounds more focused and rounded. The 103s outer sound drifts off and isn't focused. It basically has no presence in itself. The u87 produces a presence.
@PaoloBalestri Autore
Thank you 🙏
@therollingstarchive
no idea what you're saying, totally effective video, sounds beautiful
@plusestudiocuenca
Exitos!
@PaoloBalestri Autore
Ora Javier, grazie! Baci dall'Italia.
@adammontana7208
El Neumann U87 parece algo más armonioso. Gracias bro por la comparación me sirvió. 👍
@jamlocuciones
Ciao Paolo, As you know, I am an EU Spanish voice actor and international audio producer located in Spain and I fully agree with you in what you say. Both are very balanced, bring great warmth and vocal presence and are the soul of the German brand Neumann!. I have worked (as voice actor) with both MICs but, currently, I prefer to work with my TLM 103 because of its better price-quality ratio, but yes, indeed, its older brother, UA87 Ai, is the world standard to work on voicover and dubbing. But attention!!, every day, the TLM 103 is establishing itself as one of the key pieces/tools in any PRO Recording Studio together with the PreAMP UA 610 Solo (made in USA) and the RME UC Fireface sound card (made in Germany). In Europe each one of these tools is currently around 1,000 Euros. Greetings from sunny Spain!
@PaoloBalestri Autore
Thank you 🙏 I agree! 610 and TLM are a great lovers!
@larrycom
As usual, a great video. I love the 'come traggico.' Besides having a great voice, you are an insanely good actor too. I would say both microphones sound similar, except the 87 has a different low frequencies, and different low mids.
@kellyjp5841
@JacobWnorowskiMusic
@PaoloBalestri Autore
